Honor Flight - A Night To Remember









On November 8th, 25 WHHS ROTC cadets traveled to the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport to greet 75 World War II veterans who had spent a day in Washington DC as guests of South Carolina "Honor Flight". The organization uses private and public donations to fly these veterans to see the World War II Memorial, all the war memorials in Washington, and Arlington National Cemetery. Our cadets formed an Honor Guard and Color Guard to add a military flare to the arrival ceremony. Hundreds of family and friends joined our cadets in showing their respect for these members of the "Great Generation." It was truly a night to remember as our cadets were able to reach out and touch those who had preserved our freedom in wartime.
