VFW Essay Winners from SC-954

SC-954 cadets won the top three places in a recent Veterans of War "Voice of Democracy" essay contest sponsored by VFW Post 8522. The theme for the 3-500 word essay was "The Sacrifice and Service of Our Veterans Benefit Today's Youth...". Each essay had to be recorded on a CD for judging by media broadcasters and a local Mayor. It was a very rigorous and demanding process.
Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Hinnant received the first place award of $100 and a handsome plaque. Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Ashley McCullough earned second place recognition with a plaque and $50. First-year Cadet Technical Sergeant Kimberly Bracewell placed third and received $25 and a plaque. We are very proud of the scholarly effort made by these cadets. And, by the way, every cadet in the Cadet Corps developed an essay on this important subject.
