Gold Star Mothers Hosted at WHHS

On December 15th, our ROTC department served as host for a "Town Hall" meeting for a group of Gold Star Mothers who had lost children serving in the Middle East. Our color guard presented the colors and Ms. Jane Stelling had the chorus on hand for the National Anthem and some patriotic music. Mr. Paul Howell from Congressman Inglis' office served as an escort for the ladies. Each Mother talked about her experiences during a recent visit to Iraq and described how the trip had helped the healing process. Over 300 Wade Hampton students were impressed with the stories of the Iraqi people, their culture, and their customs. After the Mothers spoke, students were allowed to ask questions. It was a very moving and informative experience.
