Boarding the C-130
Preparation for flight involved putting on flight goggles, walking behind an aircraft with three running engines, and quickly strapping into webbed seats that were not made for comfort. The heat, noise, and prop blast reminded us that flying for the Air Force is not an easy business. But we were met by a Loadmaster and Flight Engineer who made us all feel at ease. Still there was a sense of anxiety for those who had never flown.
